Jakrta, TheIndonesiaPost – Coronavirus pandemic is not only about the numbers of deaths. Far from that, many domino effects were predicted to happen. Such as economic collapse and riot.
Indonesia had experience with it. Looting and pillage which happen in 1998 – along the collapse of the goverment – still pouring in some memories of the people.
It was a very terrifying day. Smoke was on the sky high, police with big guns was every where and lots of people run away for their lifes.
That terrifying day-that riot-propbably already kept deep inside in our memory. But it’s still possibly to happen again. Especially during the coronavirus lockdown, where some people do not have enough food to eat or money to spend.
Provocation through vandalism like Anarki Syndicate-which had arrested by the police a few days ago-could bring the seeds of riot to a rise. Even Anarki Syndicate is not an organized crime organization, what they did could attract looting and village.
The technology nowadays may attract people to immitate any action including the taste of violence from vicarious learning.
“The observer can duplicate to feel the same taste. Then without command any action could happen through the vicarious learning,” said Reza, a criminolog, as quoted from CNN Indonesia last Sunday.
Anarki was not the only group. Anothe group called Egaliteg was also arrested in Tangerang on Friday (10/4). They were arrested for the spread out of provokatif massage.
“In this virtual era, ideology spread easily through self-recruitment dan self-radicalization,” he said. And with these two steps, anarchism can spread easily if many people do not aware about what is happening now.
For the notice, police aarested at least for members of Anarko Syndicate. They were arrested after accused the spread of vandalism and provocative massege. They were accused to take and advantage from the lockdown due to corrona virus. (BBS)
