Mawardi Yahya Opened district / city stunting performance appraisal activities in implementing convergence action to accelerate the reduction of integrated stunting in Prov. South Sumatra in 2020 at the Bina Praja building, Tuesday (13/10).
“Now early childhood education must be prioritized so that our children in the village grow well, therefore the role of the regional head and education is very important. Without this there will be no evidence that the BKKBN must be present, especially the health service to assist mothers in the village after giving birth so that they know how to educate children from an early age, “he said.
This activity, he continued, was also intended to improve the performance of local governments in accelerating the reduction in the number of stunting children in South Sumatra.
He said that stunting is a multidimensional problem, including problems with malnutrition, inadequate health services, poverty, ignorance, ignorance, poor environment and poor distribution of foodstuffs.
“Therefore this is the responsibility of all of us. Therefore, we carry out evaluations starting from the central to regional levels,” added the Deputy Governor
Mawardi hopes that the assessment team can provide a performance appraisal for districts / cities so that the acceleration of stunting prevention and reduction in South Sumatra province can be achieved as expected.
To note, there are 6 districts / cities that are the focus of integrated stunting reduction interventions in South Sumatra province in 2020 which have been determined based on the Decree of the Minister of National Development Planning (Bappenas) Number 42 /M.PPN/HK / 04/2020, namely Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. , Muara Enim Regency, Banyuasin Regency, Ogan Ilir Regency, Lahat Regency and Palembang City.
