HD: People Need Data and Trust in Information Delivery

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra as well as the Chairman of the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru said that we as leaders in delivering information to the public need data and trust, especially when it comes to people’s lives, the problem of prices, especially inflation.

This was conveyed when he opened the South Sumatra TPID High Level Meeting (HLM) with the Coordination Meeting Agenda to discuss 2020 Inflation Control Performance and Efforts to Control Inflation Towards Fasting in Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 2021 (1442 H).

HD revealed that South Sumatra inflation was very controlled by 1.55 percent in the week before Ramadan. This figure is an achievement, because it is maintained because of public trust in the government so that it is still stable and there is no economic turmoil.

“It is different from other provinces in Sumatra, the area, the character of the population, the method of transactions, the lifestyle so that it affects the inflation rate and economic vibrations felt by more than 200 countries,” he added.

It is clear HD, a strong economy needs empowerment, the South Sumatra provincial government is determined to move forward for all the need for infrastructure connectivity and internet networks as community needs.

“The need for consumption increases during the fasting month, even though Ramadan is fasting all day long. What should have been reduced food needs, “said HD.

He continued, we need parameters related to inflation calculations. This means that they must step in to the field and the Regents and Mayors must always come down directly to check the list of prices that affect inflation.
