Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru inaugurated the Demang Lebar Daun Public Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU) while welcoming the Electric Vehicle Touring Team of the Ministry of Transportation Jakarta – Jambi in the framework of the Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement in 2022.
The launching of the SPKLU is carried out in order to support the acceleration of the battery-based electric motor vehicle program for Road Transportation in accordance with Presidential Regulation no. 55 years 2019.
HD said that he supports the electric motor vehicle program for road transportation.
“It is disseminated both in shopping malls, stops that are often passed by the community or in collaboration with gas station kiosk owners to be able to provide charging points for these electric vehicles,” he said.
He continued, what has been done by PT. This PLN is a form of transformation from fossil energy to renewable energy that is free from pollution that can pollute the air. He hopes that in the future the charger socket can be more multifunctional, not only for electric cars but also for electric motorcycles and electric bicycles.
HD also invites Regents/Mayors throughout South Sumatra to participate in supporting the electric motorized vehicle program, and in the future he wants the South Sumatran Service to use electric vehicles as well as play a role in keeping the air fresh “Go Green”.
On that occasion, HD conducted a test drive for electric cars. Electric vehicles have also gone through a test drive from Jakarta-Lampung-Palembang and continued to Jambi.
