Jakarta, TheIndonesiaPost – Hundreds of pills and methamphetamine pills failed to be smuggled from Jakarta to Central Java. The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) of Central Java Province succeeded in apprehending at least two perpetrators as well as evidence in the form of 200 grams of methamphetamine and 500 ecstasy pills.
The mode used this time is quite unique. The perpetrators tried to smuggle drugs in a social aid pick-up car.
“Drugs are put into dolls and then taken out of town in a pickup car carrying groceries,” BNN Central Java Province chief Benny Gunawan was quoted as saying on CNNIndonesia.com.
This new mode was revealed after officers rounded up suspects in the alias alias Sonnect Hospital and SH alias Wezrex, both residents of Panjang Wetan Village, Pekalongan City.
“Armed with information from the public, we do the arrest of a suspect in his hospital, there is evidence of methamphetamine and ecstasy,” said Benny during his case at his office on Tuesday (5/19).
From the suspects of the hospital, continued Benny, obtained information if the drug was obtained from the suspect SH, who was then arrested in Batang. “We will continue to develop, both of which are apparently controlled by DOK suspects, prisoners in Pati Pati. We synergize with Kemenkumham and Lapas, we succeed in dragging DOK suspects,” added Benny.
From the investigation, the suspect RS and SH turned out to be controlled by Widodo alias DOK, one of the prisoners who is still serving his sentence at the Patient Class II B Pati.
In the examination, the suspect DOK explained if the drugs he sent were brought from Jakarta with the aim of Pekalongan. To trick the officers along with the number of Mudik Penyekatan posts, methamphetamine and ecstasy drugs are put into dolls and then deposited in a pickup car carrying rice and groceries for social assistance.
“During the pandemic and the mudik ban, this network has not lost its mind,” he said.
He said, drugs were put into dolls that had been perforated and then covered with foam or cotton. To get to Pekalongan safely, Stuffed narcotics are carried in social aid transport cars.
“Of course, there is no suspicion and the police on duty at the Insulation Post will not suspect that there are dolls filled with drugs. What is seen is certainly only a pile of rice,” said Benny. (BBS)
