“Drugs in South Sumatra are extraordinarily large, we are in the top 10 and this is our joint task,” said Edward at the Ballroom of the Swarna Dwipa Hotel, Palembang. This is because there are so many entry points to South Sumatra. From land, sea, and air, so we must work together to combat drug trafficking.

Therefore, there needs to be strong synergy between stakeholders. In this case, the regional government through Kesbangpol, TNI, Polri, university elements and schools to jointly eradicate drugs.

The South Sumatra Provincial Government is currently encouraging the formation of a shining village which was launched some time ago by the South Sumatra BNN. “It is hoped that shining villages can be formed in districts/cities, because in the village there are community leaders, religious leaders, PKK, BPD. So there are many elements that can support a shining village or a village free from drugs,” he hoped.

On this occasion, he advised the younger generation not to enter and fall because it is difficult to recover and rise. “Let’s be agents of change, for the participants who are present, how can we fight these drugs and make them our enemy,” he invited.

The younger generation is expected to dare to reject and fight these drugs so that they can make more positive use of technology. Social media as a medium for educating literacy to the public about the dangers of drugs can be echoed on social media. (rys/ril)
