Jakarta, TheIndonesiaPost – Indonesia noted that there were an additional 973 positive people on Thursday (5/21). This number is the highest record positive corona daily increase since early March.
Government Spokesperson for Covid-19 Handling Achmad Yurianto said of that number, East Java Province was the largest contributor to positive corona cases today with 502 cases.
“Today, an increase of 973 people. This increase is the highest. The highest increase is in East Java Province,” Yurianto said in his press conference broadcast via Youtube BNPB, Thursday (5/21).
With the addition of 973 new cases, the number of corona virus-positive cases in Indonesia has now reached 20,162 cases. Of that number, 4,838 people were declared cured, and 1,278 others died.
Yuri detailed the patients recovered today recorded an increase of 263 people from the previous day, and the case of death rose 36 people from yesterday.
Previously, the highest number of positive daily corona cases occurred on May 13, 2020 with 689 cases and May 20, 693 cases. (ras/bbs)
