Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasts light rain in a number of major cities in Indonesia on Thursday afternoon and evening.
In the afternoon, light rain is forecast in Banda Aceh, Denpasar, Yogyakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Mataram, Manokwari, Mamuju, Kendari and Manado.
Medium-intensity rain has the potential to occur in the cities of Tanjung Pinang and Medan, rain accompanied by lightning is likely to fall in the cities of Banjarmasin and Pangkal Pinang, and heavy rains are predicted to lash the city of Pontianak during the day.
During the day, the weather for the cities of Serang, Gorontalo, Tarakan, Bandar Lampung, Ternate, Jayapura, Makassar, and Palembang is forecasted to be cloudy during the day, while the weather in Surabaya is forecasted to be sunny.
Meanwhile, the cities of Bengkulu, Central Jakarta, Jambi, Palangka Raya, Samarinda, Ambon, Kupang, Pekanbaru and Padang are forecasted to be cloudy on Thursday afternoon.
On Thursday night, light rain is likely to fall in the cities of Bengkulu, Pontianak, Tarakan, Ambon, Ternate, and Manokwari; rain accompanied by lightning has the potential to occur in Pekanbaru City; and Medan City have the opportunity to experience moderate intensity rain.
The weather for Gorontalo City is forecasted to be sunny tonight, while the weather for Banda Aceh, Denpasar, Jambi, Surabaya, Banjarmasin, Samarinda, Pangkal Pinang, Mataram, Kupang and Palembang is forecasted to be cloudy.
The cities of Serang, Yogyakarta, Central Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Palangka Raya, Tanjung Pinang, Bandar Lampung, Jayapura, Mamuju, Makassar, Kendari, Manado and Padang are forecast to be cloudy this evening. (ojn/bbs)
