Jakarta, TheIndonesiaPost – South Kalimantan Governor H Sahbirin Noor is currently carrying out a mission. The mission is to distribute food. The distribution of groceries is done at night secretly. It could be said to be similar to ‘silent ‘army operations.
The ‘silent’ food operation was carried out in a guerrilla manner. The man who is familiarly called ‘Uncle Birin’ traveled from one village to another in Banjarmasin.
The staple food was distributed in order to help the residents who are currently experiencing difficulties due to the COVID-19 virus.
Overnight Uncle Birin can reach up to nine points in one area. The number one person in Bumk Lambung Mangkurat has enough energy to cover the area.
“Tonight we distribute nine-basic necessities at nine points,” he said Monday (27/4) when distributing aid to residents of the Belasung Complex, RT 03, Central Banjarmasin.
Basic food operations carried out by Uncle Birin at night would have a purpose. He did not want his citizens to gather and stand in line just to get food packages. Besides, Banjarmasin is currently implementing large-scale social restrictions (PSBB). How could there be a crowd of citizens?
“In the city of Banjarmasin, which is currently conducting a PSBB, hopefully, the community can understand and cooperate in implementing the PSBB recommendations. “In the midst of the Covid-19 outbreak, an atmosphere of togetherness and mutual cooperation is needed to deal with it,” hoped Uncle Birin.
The Chairperson of South Kalimantan’s DPD Golkar also said, in this epidemic situation also needed sharing awareness. Because, according to him, this outbreak has greatly affected the lives of people, both the world, Indonesia, and the Banua community itself.
“This outbreak has had a devastating impact on all citizens of the world, not least we Banua residents all affected,” he said.
“Don’t leave the house just yet if you don’t have an interest, keep your distance. Wear a mask when leaving the house, diligently washing hands so that we protect ourselves from the spread of this virus, “he explained.
Saifullah, a resident of Belasung, RT 03, who received direct assistance from Uncle Birin Peduli, said he was helped by government assistance. Especially he acknowledged when many people whose economies were scarred due to loss of income due to the spread of corona.
“With the help of Uncle Birin Cares, Alhamdulillah we citizens have been helped. I personally say thank you very much to Uncle Birin for sharing this assistance with us residents here, “he concluded. (ras/bbs)
