Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Menparekraf/Kabaparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno encouraged MSME (UMKM) players in the city of Bandung, West Java, to develop their businesses so that they can become corporations or businesses that have legal entities.
“We want these MSMEs to not run in place so they have to move up to the corporate level,” he said at the Genpro (Global Entrepreneurs Professional) Seminar as quoted from an official statement, Sunday
According to him, by moving up to the corporate level, business and employment opportunities in the MSME sector will be wide open so that the target of creating 4.4 million jobs in 2024 can be achieved.
In addition, Sandiaga said the fundamentals of the three business lines were still fairly good, so that they should be looked at by MSMEs in the future, namely digital technology, health and environmental sustainability.
Not only that, he said the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is committed to improving the quality of human resources for MSME actors so that the MSME sector can be filled with quality human resources.
The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy under the Deputy for Resources and Institutions also continues to present upskilling, reskilling and newskilling programs that hopefully we can together build a business going forward and become an IPO (Initial Public Offering) business.
“So that business opportunities and jobs can be wide open,” he said.
In this activity Menparekraf Sandiaga was accompanied by Deputy for Resources and Institutional Affairs of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Baparekraf Martini M. Paham Special Staff for Menparekraf for Monitoring and Evaluation of Strategic Policies and Priorities Panji Gurnadi Danuhusodo, and Special Staff for Menparekraf for Security of Tourist Destinations and Strategic Issues Brigadier General TNI Ario Prawiseso.
