Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The Vice President, Ma’ruf Amin, hopes that entrepreneurs can carry out their obligations for the payment of Religious Holiday (Eid al-Fitr) allowances this year well, in the midst of economic conditions that have also started to improve.
“I still hope that now the conditions are even better, I hope the entrepreneurs fulfill their obligations to pay the THR,” he said, on the sidelines of his working visit in Bandung, West Java, Wednesday.
He said this when answering a question regarding the postponement of the THR payment that occurred on Eid al-Fitr the previous year due to the pandemic.
According to him, in the midst of the Covid-19 condition getting under control and various economic sectors also starting to recover, it is hoped that THR payments can be made according to the provisions. “Yes, I don’t think businessmen should try to delay it again, maybe that time,” he said.
The Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziyah, who accompanied him on the occasion stated that THR is a worker’s right guaranteed by law, which must be given to workers.
Fauziyah explained, in 2020 and 2021, due to the pandemic conditions at that time, it was agreed that THR payments could be given until December. But this year, he said THR payments would be given according to the provisions.
“But along with better economic developments and the Covid-19 pandemic which has also been handled well, the provisions regarding THR payments will be returned according to the provisions of the legislation,” she said. (ojn/bbs)
