Governor Ganjar asks religious teachers to continue to grow solidarity in society

Semarang, The Indonesia Post – Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo asked religious teachers to continue to foster solidarity in various circles of society in order to strengthen national unity and integrity.

“Religious teachers, religious instructors, it is very important to moderate religion, as well as create harmony and cohesion in the community,” said Ganjar in Semarang, Sunday.

This was conveyed by Ganjar following the disbursement of incentives for religious teachers through a grant mechanism by the Central Java Provincial Government in 2022, with a total value of Rp.281 billion.

According to the number one person in the Central Java Provincial Government, the disbursement of incentives for religious teachers can motivate those concerned to think more broadly in the context of religion.

Ganjar said that various innovations and breakthroughs from religious teachers were needed to build a conducive situation in the long term.

“The content can vary, oh how the school is moderate, how in the school there is no bullying,” he said.

Head of the People’s Welfare Bureau of the Central Java Provincial Secretariat, Imam Maskur, added that the first phase of the disbursement of the incentives for reciting teachers was in April during Ramadan ahead of Eid 2022.

In addition to the Koran teacher, the Central Java Provincial Government also provides incentives for Sunday school teachers (Christian/Catholic), Pasraman (Hindu), and Vijjalaya (Buddhist).

“A total of 211,455 religious teachers were given a stimulus because they have volunteered to practice knowledge to shape the character of students,” he said.

In one year, the recipients of the religious teacher incentives will earn Rp. 1,200,000 each.

“Although the nominal is not large, this is a form of attention from the Central Java Provincial Government to its people,” he said.

Meanwhile, the total budget given to the recipients amounted to IDR 253,746,000,000, while the total realization from 2019-2021 reached IDR 712,849,200,000.

“The policy from the governor and the deputy governor is that all religious teachers are given, not counting how many people they teach. Even though only ten are taught, they are still given an incentive of IDR 1.2 million per year,” he said. (mhn/bbs)
