Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – SOE Minister Erick Thohir revealed that the Sarinah shopping center is ready to become a community forum for collaboration and work.
“Sarinah has reopened! Sarinah is ready to become a community forum to collaborate and create. Especially art lovers, local entrepreneurs and MSMEs,” said Erick Thohir as quoted from his official Instagram account @erickthohir in Jakarta, Wednesday.
The Minister of SOEs also appreciated the enthusiasm and support of the people who visited to see the new face of Sarinah.
“Since yesterday, many people have visited to see Sarinah’s new face firsthand. Thank you for your support and enthusiasm,” said Erick Thohir.
The Sarinah shopping center on Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta, resumed operations on Monday (21/3) and 95 percent of its outlets are filled, mostly micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
PT Sarinah President Director Fetty Kwartati said that the majority of outlets were filled by MSME entrepreneurs from all over Indonesia. It is recorded that there are 500 MSMEs selling their wares in this place.
According to Fetty, 95 percent of all outlets in Sarinah are filled, but about 75 percent are open today.
She also explained that there were several outlets that were still in the process of being discussed, but that did not prevent Sarinah’s opening.
Fetty ensures that all outlets in Indonesia’s oldest shopping center are repaired and will be fully filled in June 2022. (ojn/bbs)
