VP: War disturbs peace and triggers environmental damage

Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Indonesian Vice President Ma’ruf Amin stated that Indonesia condemned the war because it not only disturbed world peace and tranquility, but also triggered environmental damage.

“We see that there is still a Ukrainian-Russian war. The impact is extraordinary, globalism is disrupted, there is an energy crisis,” said the Vice President while attending the commemoration of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad SAW and the 52nd Haul of KH Abdul Wahab Chasbullah at the Istiqlal Mosque, Central Jakarta, followed by the network. in Jakarta, Sunday.

Ma’ruf touched on the current situation in the form of Israeli attacks on Palestinians which killed the lives of local people.

“We, the whole world, condemn Israel’s attack on Palestine because it disturbs peace and order,” he said.

He said it was the obligation of religious communities to protect the environment (“hifdzul al-bi’ah”) because if the environment is damaged, there will be a global crisis triggered by damage to land and sea.

Ma’ruf in his speech said that “hifdzul” by the ulama was included as “maqashid ssy-syariah” or obedience in carrying out sharia principles whose aim is to realize the benefit of the people.

“So if this is added, then there will be five ‘hifdzul-hifdzul’, add ‘hifdzul wathan’, add ‘hifdzul amni wassalam’, add another ‘hifdzul Al bi’ah’ to maintain peaceful life in the world,” he said.

On that occasion, Ma’ruf invited all parties to pray for the Muslims in Palestine so that they would be given safety and strength to face the war.
