Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru (HD) attended the Provincial Level Technical Coordination Meeting for the Environment. South Sumatra in 2023 at the Aryaduta Hotel Palembang.
Through this opportunity, HD also handed over Proper certificates to companies that had implemented good environmental management and signed a commitment to support the company in the implementation of the South Sumatra Independent Food Movement (GSMP).
HD said that preserving the environment is everyone’s responsibility, be it the government, companies or individuals.
“Is it true that preserving the environment is the responsibility of the local government alone, that’s true and also a shared responsibility for corporations, both companies and individuals who are active in South Sumatra,” said HD.
“This is a comprehensive work, none of us are irresponsible in protecting the environment. How will the public know about the importance of protecting the environment if the government does not provide literacy. I ask everyone to be involved in overseeing this,” continued HD.
In addition, HD also emphasized that the results of the coordination meeting carried out must issue policies that can be used as navigation in preserving the environment in South Sumatra.
Regarding GSMP, HD would like to thank all parties, Regency/City Governments, Companies and communities involved in making GSMP successful.
Head of LHP South Sumatra, Drs. H. Edward Chandra, MH as Chief Executive of the Rakortek explained that the purpose of holding the coordination meeting was to synchronize policies between the Provincial Government and Regency/City Governments so as to improve the preparation of a better KLHS.
