PALEMBANG, The Indonesia Post – Implementation of the XXIX Musabaqoh Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) at the level of the South Sumatra Province at the Palembang Grand Mosque, which was officially opened by the Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru is currently entering its last day.
So far, the implementation of the religious event which was attended by hundreds of participants has gone well and according to plan. Although limited, the enthusiasm of the participants was still high and even new caravans appeared.
South Sumatra Governor H Herman Deru through the Head of the South Sumatra Provincial Secretariat People’s Welfare Bureau said, in its implementation, the MTQ which is currently being held is running smoothly. This was because previously the South Sumatra Provincial Government and all related parties had made thorough preparations. It also includes mandatory and disciplined application of health protocols.
“Alhamdulillah, until the last day, this MTQ has been running smoothly. We have been preparing for a long time, although it was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Iqbal when contacted, Thursday (10/9).
In fact, he continued, the enthusiasm of the participants was also seen in this year’s MTQ. Because even though the MTQ this time was held on a limited basis due to the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the data obtained, this activity was attended by at least 369 qori and qoriah from 17 districts and cities in South Sumatra.
It is known, MTQ XXIX at the level of South Sumatra Province in 2020 is currently only competing in a few branches, including the recitation branch of the Al Quran for children, adolescents, adults, Qiro’at Murottak Remaja and Qiro’at Murottal Adults, which was held at the Great Mosque of Palembang. . hifzhil Quran branch 1 juz and recitations, 5 juz and recitations, 10 juz, 20 juz and scientific papers on the Koran, were held at the Palembang Hajj Dormitory. As well as for the 39 juz Quran hifzhil branch, Arabic, Indonesian and English interpretations, it was held at STIQ Al Lathifiyah Palembang.
“This year, the MTQ is limited so the number of participants is reduced because there are two branches that we are competing to reduce. But when compared to last year, the enthusiasm of the people who want to participate in this MTQ is still high,” he explained.
Not only that, the enthusiasm of the participants was also evidenced by the number of new kafila from various regions in South Sumatra that enlivened the MTQ.
This has certainly contributed to the acceleration of Herman Deru’s efforts to make South Sumatra a religious region free from illiteracy in the Qur’an.
“Many new kafila are participating in MTQ this year. And this indicates that this MTQ has been entrenched in people’s lives. This means that love for the Koran and the importance of religious knowledge is growing in our society,” he explained.
He also targeted that the MTQ activities which were carried out on an ongoing basis could further spark a sense of love for the Qur’an in the community.
“Our target is the birth of the best which we will bring to the national level. This is also our effort so that the one village and one tahfidz house program which was initiated by the Governor will grow so that the people of South Sumatra are free of literacy in the al-qur’an and in South Sumatra which are religious. “he concluded.
