Without a License, Residents Are Rejected from Entering Jakarta

Jakarta, TheIndonesiaPost – DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan asserted that people who did not have documents in the form of Exit Permit (SIKM) were prohibited from entering the Jakarta area. This was done to reduce the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) in the Capital City.

“Those who do not have permission to enter and exit will not be allowed to pass. And these requirements must be met,” Anies was quoted as saying on Cable News Network Indonesia.

According to him, those who received travel permits were workers in 11 sectors that were permitted by the government during the implementation of this large-scale social restriction (PSBB).

Furthermore, the former minister of education and culture once again alluded to the appeal he made in the middle of Ramadan. At that time, Anies requested that residents who settled in Jakarta not go home to their hometown.

According to him, anyone who has left Jakarta may not be able to return to the capital in the near future. Anies claimed that he would implement the prohibition on returning to Jakarta for those who did not have complete documents explicitly.

“Working together with the National Police and the Provincial Government to guard the border, there are more than 10 points, and all entry points in Jabodetabek will have checks,” he said. (jekki/bbs)
