President Jokowi trials the Jakarta-Bandung fast train

Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Indonesian President Joko Widodo took part in operational trials of the Jakarta-Bandung fast train (KA) from KCJB Halim Station, Jakarta, Wednesday.

President Jokowi arrived at KCJB Halim Station at around 08.50 WIB accompanied by Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of BUMN Erick Thohir, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Hadi Tjahjanto, Main Director of KCIC Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi, Former Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Wishnutama, Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin.

A number of celebrities and influencers took part in the trial, including Raffi Ahmad, Tsamara, Gading Martin, Cak Lontong, and Yuni Shara.

President Jokowi and his entourage conducted operational trials of the fast train from Halim Station to Padalarang Station with a travel time of around 28 minutes at speeds of up to 351 km/hour.

After that, the journey continues by taking the Fast Train Feeder Train from Padalarang Station to Bandung Station.

The journey from Padalarang Station to Bandung Station takes 20 minutes.

Thus, from Jakarta to downtown Bandung it takes around 50 minutes.

The “soft launch” of fast train operations is targeted to start on October 1 2023. Operations will be carried out in stages starting from 8 train trips in October.

Then, in November there were 28 train trips, in December there were 40 train trips, and in January 2024 there were 68 train trips. (mhn/bbs)
