Acting Governor of South Sumatra Encourages Increased Financial Management Capacity in South Sumatra

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Acting (Acting) Governor of South Sumatra Agus Fatoni opened an Executive Course in State Financial Management for Financial Managers in the Regional Government Environment “Synergy in State Financial Management to Optimize Public Services” at the Aston Hotel Palembang, Monday (22/4/2024).

Fatoni welcomed South Sumatra, especially Palembang, as the first place to carry out this activity. According to him, financial management officials should not be appointed haphazardly. It would be better if they need to get approval from the central government.

“Because money should not be managed carelessly. “Financial management officials must have a background related to finance, if not, they must have a lot of experience through certificates or training,” he explained.

Fatoni also appreciated the Ministry of Finance for organizing this activity in order to increase the capacity of financial management human resources including related technical personnel.

“We are grateful that today we can take part in this activity with resource persons who are qualified in their fields. “Follow it as best as possible and if possible, do it continuously,” he asked.

Fatoni asked that each participant use this activity as a discussion forum and a means of exchanging information that can be used as a lesson for other regions and the best solution can be found for those with problems.

“That’s the importance of collaboration. “Apart from that, this needs to be supported by increasing capacity which can be done in various ways, both independently and through training,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Financial Education and Training Agency, Andin Hadiyanto, said that this activity was carried out to support the follow-up to the Financial program that had been implemented. Then as a forum for discussion regarding experiences and challenges faced in development.

“We need to increase the potential in Indonesia, especially in regional financial management and synergy between central and regional governments in order to increase Indonesia’s economic growth,” he said.

There are many challenges that we will face, including global economic conditions, policy challenges, effective governance of the APBD, and controlling corruption. And we can discuss all these challenges through this activity.
