Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The South Sumatra Provincial Government on (Thursday, 25/4/2024) held a ceremony to commemorate the XXVII Regional Autonomy Day 2024 in the courtyard of the South Sumatra Governor’s Office. Acting as Inspector of Ceremonies for the Regional Secretary of South Sumatra Province, Ir. SA Supriono.
In the speech of the Minister of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Tito Karnavian, which was read by Regional Secretary Supriono, the Commemoration of Regional Autonomy Day was a reflection to continue to strengthen the commitment, responsibility and awareness of all levels of regional government regarding the mandate and duties for sustainability in managing natural resources and the environment at the local level and promoting the model environmentally angry economy.
“Regional governments must continue to remember the meaning, philosophy and objectives of regional autonomy as stated in Law Number 23 of 2014 that government affairs are affairs that are managed jointly by all levels of government with the main aim of welfare and democratic goals. Regional autonomy is designed for two welfare goals and democratic goals. The division of government affairs into concurrent government affairs between the center, provinces and/districts/cities. And we as regional governments must be able to interpret the interests of the community and implement these interests for a more participatory, transparent, accountable and responsive government.” Supriono said.
Commemoration of the XXVII Regional Autonomy Day 2024 with the theme “Sustainable regional autonomy towards a green economy and healthy environment” is in line with the basic objectives of regional autonomy and supports the government to be able to optimize the potential of natural resources more efficiently and sustainably and transform superior products with continuing to pay attention to regional potential such as agriculture, maritime affairs and tourism.
