South Sumatra Legislative Council Chairperson Attends Banyuasin DPRD Special Plenary Meeting

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Chairman of the South Sumatra Province Legislative Council (DPRD), Dr. Hj. R.A. Anita Noeringhati, SH., MH., together with the Deputy Chair of the DPRD, Hj. Kartika Sandra Desi, SE., MM., and Member of DPRD, Hj. Nurmala Dewi, S.Sos., Present at the Special Plenary Meeting of the Banyuasin Regency DPRD to Commemorate the 22nd Anniversary of Banyuasin Regency in 2024, in the Plenary Meeting Room of the Banyuasin Regency DPRD. Monday (22/4/2024).

This special Plenary Meeting was chaired directly by the Chairman of the Banyuasin Regency DPRD, Irian Setiawan, SH., M.Si and attended by Members of the Banyuasin Regency DPRD. This plenary meeting was also attended by Acting. Governor of South Sumatra, Acting. Regent of Banyuasin and Regional Secretary of Banyuasin Regency.

The number one person in Banyuasin Regency currently, H. Hani Syopiar Rustam, in his speech said that 22 years has been a journey full of romance and historical dynamics, a district that was previously part of Musi Banyuasin Regency. It is fitting that today, April 22, which is similar to the current age of Banyuasin Regency, should be interpreted as a strategic moment which is philosophically meaningful as a moment to evaluate the results of what has been done in order to make it a means of introspection and how to develop strategies and priorities for the future.

In his speech, Hani Syopiar Rustam also outlined a number of achievements that Banyuasin Regency had made in the fields of quality and competitive Human Resources (HR) development, improving infrastructure, sustainable economic and environmental development, and developing quality implementation of reform and bureaucracy.

“To realize performance priorities, we have implemented a collaboration policy, including implementing several strategic steps to obtain encouraging results,” he explained. This is proven by various proud achievements, including:

Significant reduction in poverty rates:
Banyuasin Regency’s poverty rate in 2022 was 10.00 percent and decreased to 9.58 percent in 2023. Banyuasin Regency’s extreme poverty also experienced a drastic decrease from 3.07 percent in 2022 to 0.56 percent in 2023.

Controlled Unemployment and Reduced Inequality:
The Banyuasin Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) has decreased from 3.39 percent in 2022 to 3.35 percent in 2023.

The Gini ratio for Banyuasin Regency in 2018 was 0.340 and will decrease to 0.265 in 2023. This shows that inequality in Banyuasin is decreasing.

Bureaucracy is Getting Better and Corruption Prevention is Effective:
The Bureaucratic Reform Index (IRB) value for Banyuasin Regency in 2023 reached 70.23 or the BB criteria. This achievement has increased from 2022 at 57.19 or the CC criteria.

The KPK Monitoring Center for Prevention (MCP) score for Banyuasin Regency in 2023 reached 76.85. This figure has increased from the achievement in 2022 of 66.29.

Awards for Excellent Performance:
For this extraordinary achievement, Banyuasin Regency won the Special Awards Of Outstanding Performance at the 2023 Indonesia Awards.

Banyuasin was also awarded the Award for Integrated Management of Housing Areas in the Context of Handling Extreme Poverty and Stunting in 2023 from the PUPR Ministry.

Achievements at National and South Sumatra Level:
The results of the National Evaluation of Regional Government Implementation in 2023 placed Banyuasin Regency in 36th place out of 415 regencies/cities in Indonesia and 2nd out of 17 regencies and cities in South Sumatra with a score of 3,375 (Medium category).

This achievement shows an increase of 195 places at the national level and an increase of 5 places at the South Sumatra provincial level compared to 2023.

On this historic occasion, the Acting Regent of Banyuasin, who was inaugurated on September 18 2023, also expressed his respect and gratitude to his predecessors and founders of Banyuasin Regency. “With all due respect, we express our infinite gratitude for the best service and dedication to Banyuasin Regency, which we both love and are proud of,” he concluded.

As a form of gratitude, the series of commemorations for the 22nd anniversary of Banyuasin Regency was also filled with the provision of collaborative services and a cheap market for the people of Banyuasin which was held at Graha Sedulang Setudung from morning to evening. (ojn/ril)
