Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The request from the Muhammadiyah Student Cadre Alliance together with BEM Nusantara Sumsel was accepted directly by the Chair of the South Sumatra Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD), Hj RA Anita Noeringhati.
In fact, Anita immediately signed the student demands paper with a wet stamp in front of thousands of students who demonstrated in the area of Jalan to the DPRD of South Sumatra Province.
She said that his party would fight for the inspiration of the students.
“We will fight for the demands of the students,” she said, Monday (11/4/2022).
Meanwhile, the Coordinator of the Muhammadiyah Student Cadre Alliance (BEM), Wahyu Perdana, said that there were five demands submitted, namely rejecting the postponement of the 2024 General Election and extending the term of office of the President.
Rejecting an increase in the price of basic materials, fuel and VAT by 11 percent, then rejecting the transfer of IKN, not ending the agrarian conflict in Indonesia and urging the President to return VAT.
“Alhamdulillah, our aspirations were received directly by the Chairperson of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD, Hj RA Anita Noeringhati and signed and wet stamped in front of all of us,” he admitted.
He hopes that with the achievement of this aspiration, it can be fought for at the center so that this aspiration arrives and can be granted by the government.
Meanwhile, the South Sumatra Police Chief, Inspector General of Police Drs Toni Harmanto MH through the Head of Public Relations, Kombes Pol Supriadi said that the demonstration that took place was going well.
“The demonstration that took place in a conducive manner where from the information we received after it was received and signed by the chairman of the South Sumatra DPRD, the demonstrators immediately dispersed,” he admitted. (mhn/ril)
