Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Deputy Chairperson of Commission V of the South Sumatra Legislative Council (DPRD) Mgs H Syaiful Padli ST MM will collect the promise of the Acting Head of South Sumatra Youth and Sports Affairs H Rudi Irawan SSos MSi related to the delay in disbursing the medals for South Sumatra (Sumsel) athletes who won medals at XX PON and XVI 2021 Papua National Paralympic Games Week (Peparnas) which should be held at the South Sumatra Provincial Government Bina Praja or Griya Agung, Friday (22/4/2022).
“I, as Deputy Chairman of Commission V of the South Sumatra DPRD, will collect the promise of Plt Kadispora to disburse bonuses for South Sumatra PON athletes. If today he said it had not been disbursed because there was a technical problem, it meant that the money was ready. It’s just a matter of time,” said Mgs H Syaiful Padli ST MM.
Syaiful, who is also the Secretary of the PKS Faction at the South Sumatra DPRD, explained that from the results of the Commission V meeting with the Dispora last Tuesday (19/4/2022), he directly asked Rudi as the Acting Head of the South Sumatra Dispora.
“I convey the aspirations of the athletes regarding the PON bonus. I ask for clarity, don’t let these athletes turn away because of this bonus,” said the man who is familiarly called MSP.
According to Syaiful Padli, who is also the Head of Public Relations of the South Sumatra DPW PKS, at that time, Plt Kadispora ensured that the disbursement would take 1-2 days from the meeting at that time. It should have been disbursed on April 21, 2022 to the accounts of the outstanding athletes. It’s just a matter of when the handover ceremony will be held.
“I make sure that if he (Kadispora) says Tuesday, and it turns out that it hasn’t been disbursed later, I will contact him again to ask and oversee the disbursement of this bonus fund,” said Syaiful.
Regarding the complaints of athletes who are haunted by this bonus information, they will be subject to a 20 percent to 30 percent income tax discount, Syaiful Padli also hopes that the government will not burden the athletes so much.
“I said that the bonus should be given according to the mandate from the governor. For example, the gold amounting to Rp. 300 million was conveyed at the meeting. So if there is a cut, it is hoped that it will not burden the athlete. Don’t let them get too big on them,” said Syaiful.
Regarding tax, according to Syaiful, what is meant is probably income tax because it is included in income so that it can be. “But not too big,” he concluded.
One of the South Sumatra athletes who won the XX Papua 2021 PON medals explained that it was not due to the absence of the Governor that the disbursement of the PON bonus was postponed to the athlete’s account.
“Athletes don’t want to wait for symbols with the governor. The most important thing is that the bonus is paid into the account of each athlete. That’s what we’ve been waiting for,” said the athlete. (mhn/bbs/ril)
