Coordinating Minister: Paying and reporting taxes is a form of love for the country

Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said that paying and reporting taxes is a form of love for the state because taxes are one of the largest sources of revenue in the State Budget (APBN).

“Contributions in paying and reporting taxes will be very meaningful, especially during this COVID-19 pandemic,” said Coordinating Minister Airlangga at the Annual SPT Reporting event by State Officials at the Head Office of the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT), Jakarta, Tuesday.

The government, he continued, has issued many programs, both in handling COVID-19 and in economic recovery. So that tax revenue becomes very important and this can be achieved by encouraging public awareness and compliance.

Airlangga reminded that according to the philosophy of the Taxation Law, paying taxes is not only an obligation but also the right of every citizen to participate in the form of participation in state financing and national development.

“Let’s improve our country’s tax compliance, Indonesia’s strong tax progress,” he said.

The submission of the Annual Income Tax (PPh) for Individual Taxpayers (WP) has now been facilitated online through the e-filing application. In general, e-filing can be accessed through the DGT website at the address www.pajak.go.id and is an SPT reporting system using internet facilities without going through other parties and free of charge, which was made by DGT to provide convenience for taxpayers in making and submission of SPT reports to DGT so that it becomes faster and cheaper.

With the e-filing application, taxpayers no longer need to wait in long queues at drop box locations or the Tax Service Office. This is one of the SPT reporting breakthroughs rolled out by the DGT to make it easier and more comfortable for taxpayers to carry out their tax obligations.

“I have reported the Annual Tax Return (SPT) online using e-filing. Thank you to the Director General of Taxes for making it easy to fulfill tax obligations. With e-filing, we can report taxes at any time without coming to the tax office, and of course this provides convenience for taxpayers,” he said.

Also present at the Annual SPT Reporting by State Officials were the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Minister of Finance, Deputy Minister of Finance, National Police Chief, Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces represented by Inspector General of TNI, and Director General of Taxes.
