The Governor of Central Java sent a mediation team to settle workers demanding overtime pay

Semarang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo sent a team to mediate workers who were demanding overtime pay from companies that went viral on social media so that it could be resolved properly.

“It’s been mediated, actually what I said here earlier, this is the era of viralism, so it goes viral a little bit. So in the end it will be crowded, but we have facilitated it, our team has been dispatched, hopefully there will be results soon,” said Ganjar in Semarang, Friday.

The former member of the Republic of Indonesia House of Representatives (DPR) ensured that the team from the Central Java Provincial Government would work with upholding its integrity.

“In the past, many labor inspectors were not trusted. They said that if they came, they would give them money and then they would go home, God willing, that would not happen with the provincial government. I am the one who guarantees the province because I am the governor, so then just convey it so that later we can facilitate it so that industrial relations are good,” he said.

The number one person in Central Java revealed that, based on reports he received, it was known that the workers demanding his overtime pay came from Salatiga City and Grobogan Regency.

Ganjar appealed to the workers concerned to report to the Office of Manpower and Transmigration of Central Java Province or in their respective regions if they experience problems at the company where they work.

“No need to get angry, just report it, there is the Department of Manpower,” he said.

The Governor of Central Java for the two periods admitted that he often received direct reports from workers about the company’s poor service.

Therefore, he appealed to village heads, sub-district heads to regents or mayors to actively respond.

Nevertheless, Ganjar still opens the door for complaints for reports that come to him so that they can be followed up.

“For the whole community, if there is a problem, please tell us,” he said.

A netizen on Twitter asked the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, to continue uploading videos on TikTok to the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo.

In the video it says “elite factories pay difficult overtime…”. It is known that the factory in question is located in Grobogan Regency. (mhn/bbs)
