Ganjar invites students to be sensitive to disasters and the environment

Batang, The Indonesia Post – Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo invited students to be sensitive to disaster conditions and various problems in the surrounding environment, including the solutions.

“This is part of our effort to introduce the conditions that exist in nearby areas, especially related to disasters,” he said after speaking at the Disaster Response Education for Stakeholders and Young Generation Using the Multihelix Model at SMA Negeri 1 Subah, Batang Regency, Friday.

Ganjar hopes that every school understands disaster mitigation so they understand what must be done, starting from prevention, response, emergency response status and post-disaster recovery.

“Students and school administrators must understand what to do when a disaster occurs,” he said.

Therefore, various trainings are provided by collaborating with BPBD, PMI, Tagana, SAR, and TNI-Polri so that those concerned are familiar and have skills when in a disaster situation.

“With this training they will understand what the disasters are. In Batang, there was a rob disaster on the beach, but it turns out that earlier someone said there had been a landslide, then they knew how the sedimentation process was in the river so that the houses on the riverbank It flooded,” he said.

In presenting the material, Ganjar dialogued more with the students. Several basic questions about disasters were raised to the students and the students responded quite well.

In fact, from the dialogue that took place, some students already had a sensitivity about disaster conditions and also environmental issues.

“Besides that, our program that cannot stop is anti-corruption education. Starting from these school children, let them then have good experience, good knowledge so that it is useful,” said Ganjar. (mhn/bbs)
