Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The award was given directly by the Head of Indonesian National Standardization Agency (BSN RI), Drs. Kukuh S. Achmad, M.Sc., to the Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru for his commitment and dedication in developing standardization and conformity assessment.
In addition to the Governor of South Sumatra, H Herman Deru, awards were also given to the Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno, and the South Sumatran Academic, Dr Suheryanto, M.Sc.
On the same occasion, HD received the first national time stamp in Indonesia at the opening of the 2022 National Quality Month and the 2022 National Standardization Seminar organized by the National Standardization Agency (BSN). This time mark is planned to be placed at the South Sumatra Provincial Governor’s Office.
“This activity will literacy the public about the importance of standardization and aspects of the consistency of the quality of a product. In its implementation, I hope there will be intensive socialization and standardization of pick-up and drop-off,” he said.
According to HD, standardization of pick-up will help improve existing products because there are many potential products that can be standardized, especially for MSMEs whose business actors may not understand this.
“In addition, the quality that has been labeled also needs to be monitored for a certain period of time so that the existing quality is maintained,” he said.
Head of BSN RI, Drs. Kukuh S. Achmad, M.Sc., said that the National Quality Month commemoration has been held annually since 1991. It aims to increase public awareness of the importance of standardization and its role in everyday life.
This activity is also filled with the National Seminar on Standardization with a total of more than 3,000 participants online and offline. In addition, there will be an SNI MSME festival on 28-30 October 2022 on the ground floor of Palembang Square.
On that occasion, HD also handed over the assistance of SNI technical fulfillment equipment from the South Sumatra Provincial Government to representatives of SMEs implementing SNI. (mhn/ril)
