HD: South Sumatra Independent Food Movement has contributed to controlling inflation and reducing the stunting rate

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Since its launch at the end of 2021, the South Sumatra Independent Food Movement (GSMP), initiated by Governor Herman Deru, has contributed to controlling inflation and reducing the stunting rate in South Sumatra.

In order to control inflation better and reduce stunting significantly, he also invited women, especially housewives, to aggressively implement the GSMP program in their respective homes.

“So far, at home, for example, there are ten flower pots, now they are shifted. The five pots have been changed to plant chilies, onions, cherry tomatoes and others. So if one day you need them, you don’t have to buy any more. All of that can be planted in your yard. at home,” he said while attending the Idarotul Hidayah Foundation’s Akbar Sunday recitation event at the Romadhon Islamic Boarding School, West Kotabaru Village, Martapura District, East OKU Regency, Sunday (11/6) afternoon.

Not only playing a role in controlling inflation, according to Herman Derup, the role of mothers is also very large for the growth and development of the younger generation. As the first madrasah for children, the role of mothers is vital in creating quality future generations, especially in welcoming the demographic bonus for the next two decades.

Therefore, she hopes that as the first madrasah for children, mothers can provide sufficient knowledge for children, namely general knowledge and religious knowledge.

Not only controlling inflation, and the stunting rate, thanks to the GSMP program Governor Herman Deru also said he received the Satyalancana Wira Karya Award from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo which was pinned directly by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Indonesia, Syahrul Yasin Limpo.
