Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Uno said students must enter the digital ecosystem and prioritize creative products.
He also said a Islamic boarding school students (santri) must be an innovative, adaptive, and collaborative generation in dealing with the post-COVID-19 economy.
“Santri must be up-to-date and a lot of content will be provided in a digital context,” said Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno in the Indonesian Digitalpreneur Santri Program at the Idrisiyyah Islamic Boarding School Tasikmalaya, West Java, in an official statement, Jakarta, Sunday.
He hopes that the Digitalpreneur Santri Program can strengthen the presence of new digital economy talents from the santri to support economic revival and job creation.
Menparekraf admitted that he would travel to several regions during this period to prepare new talents for the digital economy, considering that there are 4.5 million students and 28 thousand Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia.
“We hope that this will be an encouragement to immediately rise from the economic side. These students will become leaders both in the business world and in other Pentahelix sectors,” said Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno.
Later, the marketing of various products made by students can be marketed through the Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement (Gernas BBI).
“These students will be part of the 30 million MSMEs that will become part of the digital economy ecosystem so that promotion is good in terms of improving packaging. We will facilitate the improvement of the promotion,” said Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno.
Santri Digitalpreneur Indonesia is a program to create a generation of digital students who can produce creative and innovative digital content and have good morals. This program is a forum for students to increase their capacity and ability through training which is said to be measurable and on target.
The participants of the Indonesian Digitalpreneur Santri will receive basic material training, discussions, and a series of practices that will make the students understand the material comprehensively. The training materials are provided by competent professionals in the creative and digital fields, as well as animation. (mhn/bbs)
