South Sumatra Provincial DPRD Listens to the Governor’s Explanation of 4 Raperda in Propemperda 2022

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD) of South Sumatra Province listened to the Governor’s explanation of the 4 Draft Regional Regulations (Raperda) that had previously been stipulated in the 2022 Regional Regulation Formation Program (Propemperda).

The explanation was delivered at the XLVI Plenary Meeting (46) chaired by the Chair of the DPRD Prov. South Sumatra; Hj. R.A. Anita Noeringhati, SH, MH together with the Deputy Chair of the DPRD Prov. South Sumatra; H.M. Giri Ramanda N Kiemas, SE, MM, attended by the Deputy Governor of South Sumatra; Ir. H. Mawardi Yahya, OPD Representatives and other invited guests both in person and virtual.

In the Governor’s Explanation read by the Deputy Governor of South Sumatra, the reasons and urgency of the 4 (four) Raperda were conveyed, including the Raperda concerning Retribution for the Use of Foreign Workers:

“The use of foreign workers must of course be able to contribute income to the region in the form of a levy imposed at the time of the extension of the permit to employ foreign workers whose nomenclature has changed into an extension of the Plan for the Use of Foreign Workers (RPTKA) as a source of regional income that can be used to implementation of the tasks of Regional Autonomy and the welfare of the community. This is in accordance with Article 88 paragraph (4) letter b of Law Number 1 of 2022 concerning Financial Relations between the Central Government and Regional Governments,” explained the Governor.

The other Raperda are Raperda concerning Revocation of Regional Regulation Number 6 of 2020 concerning Management of Production Forest and Protection Forest in South Sumatra Province, Raperda of Construction Services, Raperda concerning Amendment to Regional Regulation of South Sumatra Province Number 3 of 2014 concerning Provision of Incentives and Ease of Investment.

After the Deputy Governor of South Sumatra read out the Governor’s explanation, the plenary session was suspended by the Chair of the session, to further give time to the factions of the Provincial DPRD. South Sumatra is preparing its general view, which will be presented at the XLVI (46) Plenary Session continued on Monday (21/2) next week. (ojn/ril)
