The chairman of the Indonesian Regional Representatives Council asks the East Java Police to investigate the case of illegal booster vaccination

Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The chairman of the Indonesian Regional Representatives Council (DPD RI) AA LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti asked the East Java Regional Police (Polda) to thoroughly investigate allegations of illegal booster vaccination in the city of Surabaya.

“We ask the police to investigate allegations of illegal booster vaccination,” said LaNyalla in a press release received in Jakarta, Saturday.

Furthermore, according to him, the act of bringing up the illegal booster vaccination needs to be investigated immediately because it is not in line with the government’s spirit in creating community immunity from virus transmission and ending the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This action is contradictory to the government’s efforts to deal with the pandemic that has devastated our economy,” LaNyalla said.

He also regrets that there are still people who take advantage of this pandemic.

LaNyalla said that while the government and related parties were intensively vaccinating as an effort to save the community, these irresponsible people were actually taking advantage for themselves.

“Therefore, this must be processed legally because the impact is very broad, not only economically, but also for the safety of the human soul,” he asserted.

Furthermore, LaNyalla views that the alleged existence of a syndicate of buying and selling illegal booster vaccines also needs to be a concern for all parties because people outside Surabaya may also be the targets of these syndicates.

“It is possible that this syndicate has spread to other areas outside Surabaya, so the public must be vigilant,” said LaNyalla.

So far, from the information circulating, it is known that the perpetrators used the modus operandi as if everyone had been vaccinated.

Then, the remnants of the vaccine are collected and sold to people in need. The vaccine was offered for Rp. 250,000 and called it a booster vaccine.

In fact, the new government will start the third dose or booster vaccination on Wednesday (12/1/2022) through two schemes, namely free and paid.

Free vaccines are financed by the APBN for 21.5 million elderly and 61.6 million non-elderly contribution assistance recipients (PBI), while the paid ones are given to 93.7 million residents. (mhn/bbs)
