The power of Umrah in the month of Mawlid

Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Several months before and after the grand ritual of Muslims throughout the world, namely the month of Hajj, was completed, the “door” of entry for waves of Umrah pilgrims to the holy land was closed by the Saudi Arabian government, now the “door” is being opened a month before the arrival of the holy month of Rabi’ul Awal (maulid), the month of birth of a noble man (Prophet Muhammad SAW).

Most of our people when the month of the Prophet’s birth, namely the month of Rabiul Awal (Maulid), welcomes it with various activities, our Muslim community is already familiar with the muludan tradition. In essence, the celebration and commemoration of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad SAW is a form of expressing happiness and gratitude for the sending of the Prophet Muhammad SAW to this world. This is realized by holding recitations, prayer meetings, birthday celebrations and also studying and embodying the noble values of the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad.

The passionate desire of people to go to the holy land at the same time as entering the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad saw, became the momentum for most people to choose to perform the Umrah pilgrimage in that month. So that waves of Umrah pilgrims filled the two holy lands, namely the cities of Mecca and Medina. Airports are flooded with dzuyufurrahman and dzuyufurrasul, even Umrah departure service providers have to charter planes to facilitate departure and return services.

In fact, in Islam there is no information that mentions the merits or advantages of performing the Umrah pilgrimage in the month of Maulid, which means it is the same as performing the Umrah pilgrimage in a month outside the month of Maulid. Except for the month of Ramadan where it is clear that the reward for acts of worship is doubled.

During both the Hajj and Umrah (even though it is outside the month of Mawlid), pilgrims have the opportunity to visit the city of Medina to make a pilgrimage to the grave of the Prophet Muhammad. In a hadith, Rasulullah SAW said: “Whoever comes to me for a pilgrimage, and his need is only to make a pilgrimage to me, then Allah SWT guarantees that I will be the one who intercedes (help) for him on the Day of Resurrection” (Hadist History of Daruquthni ).

And also what you need to know and understand is that the ritual of the Umrah procession (like the Hajj) is carried out in the city of Mecca (the city of birth of the Prophet), precisely at the Grand Mosque, not in Medina, meaning that the pilgrimage to the grave of the Prophet Muhammad is not part of the Umrah pilgrimage series. The series of Umrah services are _Niat Ihram, Tawaf, Sa’i and Tahallul._ However, the pilgrimage of the Prophet Muhammad SAW is obligatory for the Islamic ummah throughout the world, as a form of gratitude, ta’dzim, tabarruk (barokah) to the noble man Rasulullah saw.

With the momentum of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad for Umrah to the holy land, it has become a magnet for most Muslims, they flock to the holy land, to pay tribute to the holy man, the Prophet Muhammad saw, as a form of gratitude for the presence of the most human, Imam of the Muslim Ummah in this world, who intercedes for his Ummah in this world and the hereafter.

As is done by the Mojokerto Sutra Umrah Tour congregation, they hold a regular Umrah program every month of Maulid with various activities at the Nabawi Mosque and Madinaj Hotel, such as recitation with Kiai Muslich Abbas, birthday readings, and so on. (gus/brk)
