Elen Setiadi Reviews Readiness of Lubuk Linggau City Disaster Task Force

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Acting Governor of South Sumatra (Sumsel) Elen Setiadi, S.H,.M.S.E said that the ranks of the Disaster Task Force (Satgas) within the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Lubuk Linggau City were formed to increase awareness of the threat of flooding entering the current rainy season.

“Today we are evaluating disaster preparedness so that we are continuously ready,” said Elen Setiadi on the sidelines of his Working Visit (Kunker) to review the BPBD Office and Fire Department of Lubuk Linggau City, Thursday (17/10/2024).

He said that even though the dry season has passed, the preparedness of the disaster management task force is important to remind considering that disasters cannot be predicted when they will occur.

“We continue to check every officer and must always be ready and anticipate. Alhamdulillah in the dry season we can handle forest and land fires and the weather is very supportive of us,” he said

Entering the current rainy season, what needs to be watched out for are disaster-prone areas, both floods and landslides, therefore officers in the field must remain alert. (mhn/ril)
