Governor Deru: Digital Innovation Key to Empowering Young Entrepreneurs

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – South Sumatra Governor H. Herman Deru attended the Media Conference of the Sultan Muda Digination Fest – Governor’s Cup 2025, held at the OJK South Sumatra office on Friday (July 18, 2025). The event gathered representatives of young people participating in the 100,000 Sultan Muda Program, an initiative aimed at shifting the mindset of youth from job seekers to job creators.

In his remarks, Governor Herman Deru expressed strong optimism about the enthusiasm shown by young participants, with more than 1,300 already joining the Sultan Muda movement.

“This is a big hope — the first step for our youth to change their mindset from looking for jobs to creating jobs,” he said.

The Governor highlighted the importance of digital innovation as the festival’s kickoff, encouraging broader outreach to Indonesia’s productive generation, both in cities and rural areas.

“The goal is for them to use digital media productively and generate real outcomes,” Deru emphasized.

He also underlined the need for young people to master new technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), in order to maximize their benefits.

Governor Deru reaffirmed his full support for the success of Digination Fest, stressing that it is designed to empower young people to thrive as entrepreneurs.
