“Thank God, the activity went well. Thank you to the support of the South Sumatran community, which made this corn planting program a success,” said the National Police Chief.

The National Police Chief also touched on the global situation, which is currently facing various challenges, including the escalation of conflict in the Middle East region, which has had an impact on the global and regional situation.

“We hope this situation will end soon and peace can be achieved. Synergy between the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Indonesian National Police (Polri), the government, religious leaders, and the community is crucial in facing the various dynamics and challenges that exist,” he stressed.

“Corn production in South Sumatra continues to increase. In fact, we are not only able to meet our own needs but also supply other regions,” he said.

He added that the demand for corn is currently increasing, especially for animal feed such as for laying hens, which also supports the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.

Herman Deru further emphasized that the agricultural sector in South Sumatra continues to be promoted through various programs and cross-sector collaboration.

“South Sumatra currently ranks among the top three nationally in food productivity. This is proof that our agricultural sector continues to develop,” he concluded. (mhn/ril)
