Herman Deru Receives Executive Board of Indonesian Konghucu Religion Council

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru, thanked the Confucians (Konghucu) who live on Bumi Sriwijaya, who have contributed a lot and contributed to the development of South Sumatra.

This was conveyed when he received the Chairperson of the Indonesian Confucian Religion High Council (Matakin) South Sumatra Sakim Nanda Budisetiawan Homandala, S.H.MM and his staff in the framework of gathering and introducing themselves as administrators of South Sumatra Matakin.

“As the Governor of South Sumatra I feel proud of the establishment of a number of houses of worship in the JSC complex which are located close to each other. This proves that South Sumatra is an area that is cool, harmonious, safe and has zero conflict, even though our race, ethnicity, religion and culture are different, “said Herman Deru.

To maintain the area’s conduciveness from the threat of division, Pemprov. South Sumatra, continued the Governor, formed a forum, namely the Religious Communication Forum (FKUB). Where this FKUB has an important task, namely to unite the many differences in South Sumatra.

“The people of South Sumatra are very welcome and thank the people of Confucius who have actively contributed in building comfort amid the diversity of cultures, customs and tribes in South Sumatra,” he said.

He added, “In principle, I agree with the religious ritual that starts on 27/9 to 1/10. Moreover, the event is asking for prayers so that Covid 19 can quickly disappear and no longer exist.”

“I also advise that it be carried out in accordance with health protocols and at the same time implement and be able to socialize Pergub number 37 regarding covid-19 related discipline,” he said. (IMF/ril)
