PALEMBANG, The Indonesia Post – Coinciding with the 56th National Health Day (HKN) 2020 which was commemorated on Tuesday (24/11) at Griya Agung, the Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru again launched his program that really touched the community. Without relying on the APBN and APBD, Herman Deru successfully presented One Village Ambulance which was on call for 3500 villages throughout South Sumatra.
Governor Herman Deru said that this program was initiated as a humanitarian movement because this innovation purely involves the community in providing health facilities (ambulance).
“We have seen a lot on social media and viral sick people are brought using carts or motorbikes. I was inspired by that, and invited people to want to turn their vehicles into ambulances and the provincial government guarantees that they will exempt their taxes for one year running,” said HD.
According to him, this solution is very effective, so that the residents’ cars will be installed with rotator lights, emblems and tax exempt in order to serve poor people in need.
“For owners, their vehicles can still be used because they are not used at any time, but only during an emergency. For example, there is an underprivileged family who is about to give birth and needs to be delivered to the nearest health facility,” HD explained.
Even though it was just launched, HD said that thousands of citizens had registered. He also hopes that this program can run and help the people of South Sumatra to more easily get health services.
“If you use the APBD, just multiply it. For example, the simplest ambulance is Rp. 300 million for 3500 villages. That means there is Rp1 trillion in APBD that we have to set aside. But this is not the case, even lower costs” he said.
He was also not surprised if this program was immediately rewarded by MURI even though it was just launched. Because through this program South Sumatra became the first province to initiate community involvement to handle health in the field, of course, with the support of tax-free incentives from the South Sumatra Provincial Government.
In the HKN commemoration, the Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru not only launched the One Village Ambulance Program, but also launched another program that was no less good, namely the integrated South Sumatra PSC 119 Response.
In the HKN commemoration, the Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru not only launched the One Village Ambulance Program, but also launched another program that was no less good, namely the integrated South Sumatra PSC 119 Response.
This program, said HD, was launched to make it easier for the public to access health services directly to number 119 which is integrated with the police as well as One Village Ambulance.
Apart from the two programs above, one of the programs that also received the MURI award was the Award for Prosperous and Happy Family Samawa. South Sumatra received MURI because it was the first province to hold this program in Indonesia.
“We give this award to convey to the community the importance of harmony, that the zero conflict status of South Sumatra also begins with family harmony,” he added.
For this program, the Provincial Government collaborates by involving the BKKBN and the Regional Office of Religion as competent assessors.
In addition to the launch of the South Sumatra Response, One Ambulan One Village, as well as the Giving of Awards to the Samawa Family and the awarding of MURI for the three programs, the HKN commemoration ceremony also carried out the delivery of medical equipment assistance to several referral hospitals. The assistance was in the form of a ventilator, oxygen cylinder, PPE and others to several representative hospitals.
Shortly after the event, the Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru, accompanied by Forkopimda, immediately looked at dozens of village ambulances that were ready to serve the people of South Sumatra.
