Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra (Sumsel) H Herman Deru welcomed the Al-Qur’an waqf program and the guidance of the Riau Mengaji Community under the care of the famous Ustadz Ahmad Al-Habsyi.
He assessed that the program, which aims at improving the reading of the Qur’an among the younger generation, can be collaborated with the South Sumatra Provincial Government program, which is one village and one tahfidz house which in two years of leadership is with him.
Deputy Governor Mawardi Yahya has reached more than 3500 Tahfidz houses. The rapid growth of tahfidz houses in South Sumatra proves that the people of South Sumatra are religious and love the Qur’an.
“The program is in line with our program, which is one village and one tahfidz house. The goal is to produce a superior generation, love the Qur’an and be free from illiteracy of the Qur’an, “HD said in a religious lecture with the famous Ustadz Ahmad Al-Habsyi and was followed by the Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) of South Sumatra Province, took place at Griya Agung, Friday (15/1) evening.

Meanwhile, Regional Secretary Nasrun Umar reported that this tausiyah activity was held with the aim of establishing friendship.
“In addition, this event also aims to increase devotion to Allah SWT in all ranks of the South Sumatra Provincial Government and to promote Al-Quran and Al-Qurankan society,” said the Regional Secretary.
Meanwhile, the representative of the Riau recitation community, Heri Candra, explained that the Riau Mengaji Community had synergized with the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) and even this community was led directly by Ustadz H Ahmad Al-Habsyi.
In addition, the Riau Kaji community has several branches including South Sumatra Province, Jambi Province and North Sumatra Province.
“Alhamdulillah, the riau recitation community has a movement, namely a one million Al-Qur’an waqf program with guidance. One year on, this community has only been able to collect and distribute 100,000 Al-Qu’an in several areas, ”he said.
