Cooking oil is still scarce, Governor HD urges the public not to panic buying

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru (HD) Performs Friday Prayer with the community at the Al-Fatihah Mosque in Perum. Puri Sejahtera 9 Jl. Gotong Royong Rt. 19 Talang Jambe Palembang.

Through this Friday’s safari, HD conveyed that regarding rare cooking oil, he appealed to the public not to panic buying.

HD also advises the public not to act more in responding to the scarcity, and to temporarily switch to processing food ingredients to avoid using cooking oil until the problem of scarcity is resolved.

“We don’t need to be excessive in responding to the scarcity of cooking oil that has recently occurred, I hope the public remains calm. Don’t think as if cooking oil will run out, then hoard cooking oil by buying excessively”, said HD.

“I also hope that people can temporarily switch to processing food by not using cooking oil, such as cooking soup (pindang) and others by boiling it,” added HD.

HD also approved the construction of the tahfidz house to be carried out by the mosque construction committee, but he requested that the teaching and learning activities of the tahfidz house be carried out immediately.

Regarding this matter, HD along with the Head of OPD Prov. South Sumatra provided assistance of Rp. 100 million for the construction of the roof terrace of the mosque and the tahfidz house as well as other equipment such as air conditioners, and others. (mhn/ril)
