Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Vice President Ma’ruf Amin praised the food technology facilities of public company (Perum) Indonesian Logistics Agency (BULOG) when he visited the Bulog modern warehouse complex in the Head of Gading area, Jakarta, Friday (11/3) to improve the quality of rice for the community.
“By equipping Perum Bulog’s food warehouses with RTR or rice to rice machines, the government’s ability to manage food quality is also getting better and we can fulfill efforts to ensure food availability in the long term,” said Ma’ruf Amin after see RTR facilities and technology.
Bulog’s President Director Budi Waseso who accompanied the Vice President’s visit gave detailed information about the benefits and advantages of Bulog’s RTR machines spread across areas that are rice production centers, such as in Java, West Nusa Tenggara, Lampung and South Sulawesi.
The Vice President appreciated the efforts of Perum Bulog to bring this rice to rice machine technology, thus ensuring not only its availability, but also the quality of rice for the better.
Vice President Ma’ruf also ensured that the stock of meat before the fasting month and Eid al-Fitr was safe.
“We have seen for ourselves at this time how Perum Bulog is able to provide basic needs, especially rice and meat assigned by the government in sufficient or safe quantities. This food stock is also available evenly in all Bulog warehouse units throughout Indonesia,” said Ma’ruf Amin.
Meanwhile, the President Director of Perum Bulog Budi Waseso said that the quality of Bulog’s rice has been guaranteed since the implementation of modernization efforts starting in 2020 and its placement is aimed at areas that are rice production centers.
“We have prepared as well as possible the positioning of Perum BULOG from the previous few years so that at this time BULOG is very ready to carry out its duties as the Main Operator to carry out assignments from the National Food Agency,” said Budi Waseso. (ojn/bbs)
