Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru opened the Regional Championship (Kajurda) Swimming The Governor of South Sumatra Cup was organized by the All-Indonesian Swimming Association (PRSI Sumsel) of South Sumatra Province
HD appreciates PRSI Sumsel for organizing this activity. According to him, this activity is a testament to the enthusiasm that remains fostered to achieve achievements at the national level.
“At this stage the children have gone through the selection in their respective regions and we hope that swimming athletes will be selected again for the national championship. All of you who have been practicing optimally, hopefully you will be caught up to the national championship,” he said.
Continuing his speech, HD advised the swimming coaches to continue to be enthusiastic about finding outstanding seeds by not just fixating on the competition pools. But you can also take advantage of nature but still pay attention to caution and safety.
“My message is that South Sumatra is famous for its maritime area, swimming is a part of South Sumatra’s life, it is obligatory for us to maintain a fighting spirit for every swimmer, both achievement swimming and recreational swimming. PRSI continues to look for outstanding seeds,” he concluded.
The chairman of the committee, Achmad Al Azhar, said that this activity was carried out for three days, 12-14 July 2022 with 220 participants from 17 regencies/cities of South Sumatra. In this activity there are 140 competition numbers starting from the age group of 14 years to 19 years and over which are divided into 5 age groups for boys and girls.
“The 1st to 3rd place winners will get medals, trophies and certificates, and the overall winner will compete for the South Sumatra Governor Cup. Winners will also be included in the National Championships,” he said.
