Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) received a visit from King Eswatini, King Mswati III, at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, to discuss various efforts to increase economic cooperation between the two countries in the fields of health, tourism, infrastructure and energy.

“This visit is actually a combination of visits in the context of tourism, holidays, but is also used by King Eswatini to hold meetings with the President and discuss efforts to increase cooperation between the two countries, especially in the economic field,” said the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs. Retno Marsudi who accompanied President Jokowi during the meeting, according to an official statement from the Presidential Secretariat.

Foreign Minister Retno explained that one thing that had progressed since the last meeting of the two leaders in 2019 was the presence of an Indonesian company engaged in the health sub-sector, namely the wellness spa in Eswatini.

According to Retno, this is the initial opening for various other collaborations.

“In the meeting earlier, King Eswatini said that the wellness spa company in Eswatini plans to import Indonesian cosmetics,” she also said.

In addition, Jokowi also talked about how the private sector and state-owned enterprises of the two countries can forge closer partnerships.

According to the plan, said Retno, the two countries will sign cooperation to strengthen bilateral relations, especially in the economic sector.

“We are two foreign ministers assigned to prepare the document,” she also said.
