Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Deputy Governor of South Sumatra H Mawardi Yahya is committed to supporting various efforts to reduce stunting rates in South Sumatra. One of them is through the Coordination Meeting (Rakor) of the Team for the Acceleration of Stunting Reduction (TPPS) at the South Sumatra Province Level.
This was said when he received an audience from the Head of the BKKBN Representative for the Province of South Sumatra, Mediheryanto, S.H., M.H., in connection with the implementation of these activities.
Mawardi said that in his directives President Jokowi had emphasized the target for the stunting prevalence rate in 2024, which is below 14 percent. This can certainly be achieved if there is cooperation and commitment between OPD and stakeholders. Both technically and in terms of budget.
“The South Sumatra Provincial Government is ready to commit to taking the necessary policy steps. At least the South Sumatra Provincial Government is committed to determining budget policies and prevention efforts. I want this to be focused in the future,” he said.
For this reason, MY specifically requested that the relevant OPD immediately conduct an internal coordination meeting by inviting the BKKBN. The meeting is intended to formulate policy and budgetary steps that will be formulated in the future RPJMD in the context of reducing stunting rates.
This step is also accompanied by certain technical instructions so that it can be applied in the Regency/City of South Sumatra. In its implementation, MY did not forget to remind Prov TPPS to continue to coordinate with the Central Government or related Ministries.
Meanwhile, the Head of the BKKBN Representative for the Province of South Sumatra, Mediheryanto, S.H., M.H., said that South Sumatra was one of 17 provinces that would evaluate the acceleration of stunting reduction which would be carried out on August 24 s.d. 7 September 2022 by the Central BPKP.
