Nusa Dua, The Indonesia Post – Minister of Communication and Information Johnny G. Plate reviewed the readiness of the media center or media center that journalists will use while covering the G20 Summit in Nusa Dua, Bali.
“The media center is connected to the G20 Summit venue in Apurva Kempinski in real time,” Johnny said during a visit to the G20 Summit Media Center in Nusa Dua, Bali, Saturday.
Access to coverage of the G20 Summit for journalists is provided through the media center. The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, as the person in charge of media and communications for the G20 Indonesia Presidency, provides a workspace with a large screen that will display the actual G20 Summit from Apurva Kempinski.
According to Minister Johnny, the connectivity infrastructure between the media center and Apurva has been completed and can run well starting tonight. As for the media center as a whole, preparations are expected to be completed on Saturday night so that as of November 13, it can be inaugurated.
Regarding telecommunications networks, the Ministry of Communications and Informatics coordinates with telecommunications operators to prepare large bandwidth using both fiber optic and satellite cables.
“I have been given confirmation from the cellular operator that they will monitor the bandwidth in real time,” said Johnny.
The Ministry of Communication and Information has prepared two floors at BICC The Westin Resort as a media center for covering the G20 Summit. The journalist’s workspace is equipped with 192 computers and 192 LAN networks.
The Ministry of Communication and Informatics also provides facilities for a press conference room that can accommodate 443 people, a studio for live broadcasts and a studio for interviews.
As for the coverage material, the media center will provide press releases in Indonesian and English as well as photos and videos in clean feed format that can be used for broadcasting.
