Minister of Sports: Toba’s F1H20 race can boost tourism and MSMEs

Medan, The Indonesia Post – The Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora), Zainudin Amali stated that the prestigious F1 Powerboat World Championship or F1 H20 Toba 2023 race is believed to boost Indonesia’s tourism sector in the eyes of the world, will also stimulate economic growth, especially for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

“I need to convey that President Joko Widodo’s directives after we were hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, there must be efforts to encourage economic growth again. One of them is through tourism activities and sports design such as F1 H20,” said Menpora during a media gathering. online via a zoom meeting, which was attended in Medan, North Sumatra, Tuesday.

Menpora hopes that starting from the community, religious and traditional leaders, to all elements in the Lake Toba region will help and make the international event successful which will be held in Lake Toba, North Sumatra on 24-26 February 2023.

“I also appeal to the community and entrepreneurs who are there to help the success of the 2023 Toba H2O F1,” he said.

The Menpora stated that 2023 would be a year with many sporting activities, one of which was also hosting the FIFA U20 World Cup.

These activities, he said, showed the world’s trust in Indonesia in holding international-level activities

“With so many international sports activities, it will certainly help increase tourist visits in Indonesia, as well as increase national economic growth,” he said.

On this occasion the Menpora specifically expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kemkominfo) who contributed massively to the socialization of the F1 H2O Toba 2023.
