Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said that his party was preparing tourist villages to religious-based destinations to take advantage of the potential of 123.8 million tourists who are predicted to travel during the 2023 Eid holiday.
“We have prepared several tour packages such as tourist villages, to religious tourism-based destinations for the 123.8 million tourists who are predicted to travel back and forth this year,” said Menparekraf in a written statement received in Jakarta, Thursday.
Sandiaga also stated that this moment would be the main capital in achieving the target of mobilizing domestic tourists, namely 1.4 billion movements in 2023.
“This will be able to create 2-3 times the movement of the total movement. So we are targeting 25 percent or 300-350 million movements of the target of 1.4 billion domestic tourist mobility this year to be achieved,” he said.
Sandiaga said this, because they didn’t just move from their place of origin to their hometown. But also when they are in their hometown they will carry out tourism activities, after that most of them return to the capital city.
“So at least there are at least 3 movements. And that is what we have to anticipate so that the 2023 Eid holiday can be safe and comfortable,” he said.
As previously reported, Sandiaga Uno prepared various scenarios and also increased coordination with the local government to anticipate the potential for a surge in tourists during the Eid al-Fitr 1444 H holiday.
“We will carry out simulations so that before H-7, procedures have been prepared such as crowd control and also the flow of visitors and so on,” said Sandiaga
The Eid al-Fitr 1444 H holiday is the momentum of the first long holiday after the COVID-19 pandemic and the revocation of PPKM status. Because of this, Sandiaga estimates that the number of tourists will boom during Eid.
He said the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy had also coordinated with tourism offices in districts, cities, provinces as well as authority bodies in each tourism destination to be prepared. (mhn/bbs)
