Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said that Indonesia’s preparations for holding the G20 Summit, which will take place in Bali on November 15-16, are already on the right track.
“We are ready in terms of logistics and in terms of substance. I think our preparations are on the right track,” Retno said to the media at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Friday.
Retno and Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati recently met with President Joko Widodo to convey a number of developments that have occurred at the ministerial level of G20 countries.
However, Retno did not reveal what developments she meant. She reported to Jokowi regarding a series of side events at the 2022 G20 Summit, including six G20 ministerial meetings which took place from August to September.
One of them is the G20 Development Ministers Meeting (DMM) which was held from Wednesday (7/9) to Friday in Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung.
The G20 DMM in Belitung resulted in an agreement to accelerate the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through strengthening the resilience of developing countries in facing future crises.
The G20 DMM Forum also agreed on two important documents, namely the G20 Roadmap for Stronger Recovery and Resilience in Developing Countries, Least Developed Countries, and Small Island Developing Countries and the G20 Principles for Improving Mixed Finance in Developing Countries, Underdeveloped Countries, and Island Developing Countries. Small.
Retno also reported to Jokowi regarding a series of other ministerial-level meetings that are still scheduled to take place from October to November towards the culmination of the G20 Summit.
“Then in October-November there will still be eight ministerial-level meetings leading up to the G20 Summit, but the preparations, thank God, are on the right track,” she said.
The G20 Summit in Bali on November 15-16 will be the culmination of a series of ministerial level meetings, working groups, and engagement groups that take place throughout the year. All leaders of the G20 countries are expected to attend the G20 summit later.
