Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru said that farmers are a prestigious profession because farmers are one who plays a role in reducing poverty with the aim of making the community prosperous.
This was conveyed by HD when attending the signing of the MOU between PT Sriwijaya Argo Industri and SMK Negeri Sembawa Agriculture, Banyuasin Regency as well as launching Products from the Fragrant Lemongrass Oil Refining Factory.
“It is our duty together how our students see their talents so that the future is bright so that they can continue to create and work for the welfare of their children” said HD.
HD said he was present 13 years ago in Banyuasin district at the KTNA event where at that time he was still the East OKU Regent where the program and the initiation of Jatropha were used as raw material for diesel.
“Currently we need those who are willing, able, know and need a process so that objectives in various fields can be completed. For example, in agriculture, reliable agricultural workers were needed by recruiting 1000 agricultural extension workers last November. In order to support agriculture, we have held a Regional Working Meeting and the first was held in South Sumatra, ”explained HD.
Previously, HD saw directly the layer chicken farms that have been operating and the only ones in Sumatra and in Indonesia are in Kupang and Banjarmasin. Followed by harvesting Crystal Guava fruit and sowing fish seeds.
