“I added earlier that the G20 is an economic forum, a financial forum, a development forum, not a political forum, so don’t drag it into politics,” Jokowi said at a press conference in Bali, Wednesday.
President Jokowi said that in the G20 Bali Leaders’ Declaration there was one paragraph that was debated, namely the attitude towards the war in Ukraine. The leaders talked about it until midnight.
According to Jokowi, there is a Russian representative in the discussion. Although tough, in the end the Bali Declaration was reached by consensus.
“We agree that war will have a negative impact on the global economy. That’s about it. Then the global economic recovery will not be achieved without peace,” said Jokowi.
Therefore, President Jokowi conveyed himself at the beginning of the opening of the third session of the G20 Summit calling for the war to be stopped.
In addition to the declaration, said Jokowi, the G20 leaders have also agreed to produce concrete cooperation in the health sector. “I have already conveyed the results of US$1.5 billion for the pandemic fund and energy transition and digital transformation,” the President added. (mhn/bbs)
