Jakarta, TheIndonesiaPost – President Joko Widodo answer issues that are developing in the community through the Youtube channel of the Presidential Secretary, Thursday (05/15/2020).
President Jokowi gave an explanation starting from the easing of large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) to when the stages of productive and safe society from Covid-19 began.
For the easing of PSBB, President Jokowi explained that there has not been any easing of PSBB, the government is still evaluating figures and facts in the field related to handling Covid-19, quoted Kompas.
“The point is we must be very careful, lest we make the wrong decision,” President Jokowi said.
President Jokowi explained, in the stages of a productive and safe society from Covid-19, the community could resume normal activities.
According to him the community must compromise with Covid-19, be side by side, and make peace. Because, continued President Jokowi, the latest information from WHO, even though the curve has been funded, or become less but this virus will not disappear.
“This means we must co-exist with Covid-19. The important thing is that the productive and safe community from Covid-19,” said President Jokowi.
Jokowi further explained that making peace with Covid-19 does not mean giving up. Side by side also does not mean giving up but adjusting. The community continues to prioritize and require strict health protocols to fight Covid-19.
Side by side with Covid-19 also does not make PSBB will be revoked. PSBB continues but, the community must have a new life order to coexist with Covid-19.
“It means, people’s lives are running. Once again people’s lives are running but we also have to be able to avoid COVID this way, wash our hands after doing activities, keep a safe distance, and wear masks,” said President Jokowi.
When will the productive and safe community stage of Covid-19 begin?
According to President Jokowi, this will be decided after the government sees the facts on the ground and the figures from Covid-19’s positive curve and curves of patients recovering and curves of death cases. (ray/asm/bbs)
